2013 OFFICIAL GINT-A-CUFFS SCORING RULES
All cards that score points, either positive or negative, are to be shown on the participant's blog. The participant shall keep a per pack score and a running total. After having scored their whole hobby box, they shall comment on the Leader Board page. Final scores shall be submitted no later than 11:59pm, Eastern, Friday, September 27, 2013.
Scoring will be based on the player/individual/place/etc named on the front of the card. If it is a card of Jose Reyes sliding into home plate that is covered by one of the Molina boys and Reyes is named on the front of the card, you only get points for Reyes.
Favorite Teams only apply to the MLB teams. The Mississippi Braves do not equal the Atlanta Braves.

Disclaimer: I have done my best to insure that the odds are correct. If I am wrong, please bring it to my attention. Scoring may or may not be addressed based on new odds.
The Commissioner reserves the right to change or amend these scoring rules for clarification or just poor initial reasoning. Any changes will be clearly noted to the participants.
NOTE: I realize that I have not put points up for double bat knobs, regular bat knobs, double rip cards, double rip cards where the first one is in blue ink and the second one is in red, originals A&G, employee cards (both relic and auto), the card that was taken to the moon, etc. I'll post them soon enough, or when a participant brings it to my attention that they have one and I haven't assigned points.
I'm using the scanned wrapper post, the checklist at Cardboard Connections, and ebay as my guides for the odds and descriptions of cards.

Does the Pele blank back score anything? I pulled one, will post pics in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI am assuming that by What's in a Name, you mean Across the Years?
ReplyDeleteYes. Late night editing got the best of me. I've made the change. All changes will be in red.
DeleteAre red autos #/d out of 10 the same points as a regular auto?
ReplyDeleteMark, it's not an issue so don't worry about it now.
DeleteHow about the Mini Bill Walton SP (#350)?
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, is the Yankee penalty cumulative? For example, if I pull a SP Yankee or an Across the Years Yankee, do I get 2 points for the SP or insert and then subtract one point for a total of 1 point, or do I just get a flat out -1 points with no modifiers? I had been scoring it as getting credit for the SP or insert status, but I have seen others score it as a flat -1 for it being a Yankee.
ReplyDeleteIn years past they were cumulative (At least that is how the winner of last year won, he counted a Mantle WIN as -1, but ended up with a +1 net from it to edge out the competition by 2. Looking for clarification on this as well.
DeleteQuick question, for the over-sized box loaders, if you snag one on the FP list but not your FP, is it +10 or +18? Not sure if the +10 in parenthesis is a +10 more or the corrected base value. I think it is +10 since you get +2 for other FP on other cards and the box loader is +8 by itself, but just wanted to verify.
ReplyDeleteI keep pulling Pope Francis I as card #217, not #270 as listed in the rules. Does #217 get +1 as well, or just the #270?
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Are the mini blue border relic cards any rarer than white-bordered versions? If so, is there a point difference for blue bordered mini relics? If so, what IS the point value for a mini relic blue bordered card?
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity (and sure, I do have a vested interest in the answer), why is it that Bats back minis, which are more common (1:203) get more points than printing plates (1:594)?
ReplyDeleteQuestion on relics/autos of favorite players:
ReplyDeleteDo you get the +10 base, then multiply it by the multiplier (i.e. 12 pts for favorite team, 17 points, or 30 points), or is it +10 for the relic, then +2 for being a favorite player, then multiply? Basically, is there double dipping, and if so why bother with the multiplier at all?
So what are the point totals for those super-duper rare cards that haven't been scored yet?
